Australia Day 26 January - every year!
Australia, a land of sun, surf, wide open spaces and amazing wildlife celebrates it's national day on 26 January. To many urban locals this means catching up with your mates, hanging out in the sun, usually by some form of water - beach, river, pool and then gathering for city hosted fireworks. The last of which is a bit unfortunate when so much of the country is experiencing extraordinarily warm weather and there is a constant threat of fires - or worse, actual fires.
But the Australia spirit calls keeping your chin up and partying on - so here are some suggestions for hosting your Australia Day Shin Dig.
Classic Aussie Tucker - Party Food Ideas
- Sausage sizzle
- BBQ including lamb chops
- Sausage rolls, party pies and chiko rolls
- Anything with vegemite
- Everything with tomato sauce
- Beef burgers with beetroot
- Lamingtons, Pavlova and Vanilla slices
Australia has quite a gourmet palate these day - but it's nice to enjoy our cliches food heros from time to time. And Australia day is no better time to honour one's heritage.
Oz Day in Perth - Party Balloons
In recent times, some Aussies have really embraced Oz-themed decorations for self (bikinis, thongs, tank tops etc.), home (big flags) and car/ ute. There are flags and bunting everywhere for a lot of Jaunary. So if you're having a get together you might like to consider some balloon decorations to set the tone. We have foil balloons featuring the Aussie flag and latex balloons in our feel good colours of gold and green.
See our party balloons or call 9364 2526 to order ballooon decorations for your party.
And why not send a balloon bouquet made up of these balloons to family and friends who are taking up Australian citizenship. Add a jar of vegemite and it's a perfect welcome gift. See our helium balloon bouquets or call 93643 2526 to put together an Australia Day Gift.
Happy Australia Day Australians - wherever you are!
